Bonjour!
I’m Sylvie, French-Belgian born now living in Melbourne, Australia.
I love sharing my passion for French pastry and empowering home bakers with easy-to-follow recipes.
In 2018, I started my website – A Baking Journey – to share delicious recipes for home bakers inspired by my heritage and passion for French pâtisserie.
In 2019, I completed a Classic French Pastry Training at renowned culinary school, École Ducasse, named the “World’s Best Culinary Training Institution” by the World Culinary Awards. This reinforced my love for pastry and sparked my passion for sharing these incredible skills!
In 2023, I published a cookbook called “Bite-Sized French Pastries for the Beginner Baker“, and in 2024, I started teaching the art of pastry-making in real life at my cafe in South-East Melbourne ‘Murrumbeena Pantry‘.
For me, baking is not just about following the steps of a recipe, it’s about understanding the fundamental principles that make it a success – and this is exactly what I’ll to share with you in my classes.
